About Us
Balanced health is the Genesis of living well
Welcome to Genesis, a place where You are the focus. It is an honor to introduce myself to you. My name is Lystra Wilson-Celestine and I have been in the field of OBGYN for almost 20 years. I moved to the Northern California area 4 years ago, and am motivated and invested in my patients' health and supporting their goals. Some of you have already met me and we have built a solid relationship. I am looking forward to forming new partnerships through Genesis Center for Women’s Health.

I was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago and grew up in the beautiful village of Les Coteaux, Tobago. From a young age, I was fascinated by medicine. My father often tells the story of how engrossed I would become watching medical documentaries that he would have to call my name several times—and sometimes tap me on the shoulder—to get my attention. Looking back, it seems medicine was always my calling.
That passion led me to study biological sciences and eventually attend medical school at St. George's University in Grenada. After immigrating to the United States, I completed my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Michigan.
I chose Women's Health because I could relate to many of the experiences my patients face. I have experienced painful periods, pregnancy loss, relationship challenges, and the ongoing journey of learning to prioritize my own well-being. These experiences have given me a deeper understanding of the physical and emotional aspects of women's health.
As an immigrant, I learned to adapt to a new culture while holding on to the values that shaped me. One of those values is treating each patient as an individual, not a number. I believe listening is one of the most important parts of healthcare, and I take time to understand not only your symptoms but also your story.
After more than 15 years working in hospitals and large healthcare systems, I made the bold decision in 2019 to create Genesis. My vision was to build a place where women feel heard, valued, and supported through every stage of life.
While I spent many years helping women achieve pregnancy and delivering babies, I recognized that women spend most of their lives outside of pregnancy. Today, Genesis focuses on gynecology, perimenopause, menopause, hormone health, and whole-person wellness—areas of women's health that have often been overlooked for far too long.
I am a woman of faith and believe caring for women is my purpose. I am currently pursuing advance training in personalized hormone replacement therapy through various oorganizations to better serve my patients and my ultimate goal is to be an Integrative Gynecologist to better serve my patients.
When I'm not caring for patients, I enjoy music, traveling, spending time outdoors, and trying new experiences. I believe the glass is always half full, and it is my privilege to help women feel healthy, empowered, and supported throughout their health journey.
